Don't Label Me...Ok, Just A Little.
I bumped into a friend who is kind enough to read my blog. She asked me to clarify a few decorating styles I mentioned in one of my posts: http://hdstylestudio.com/blog/2014/01/training-the-eye-styling-tips/. Here's a quick break down on a few "designery" terms I referred to in my post. Just to clarify though, I don't like to label people or a style - it feels a bit stodgy and contrived, which is not good in the world of design...in any world really. Consider understanding your style like a tool to help narrow down your look, so it's easier to figure out what you like when you're faced with so many options or when you hire a designer, like me! A few other styles you can Google are: modern, contemporary, traditional, transitional, country, etc.
EAST COAST: Think Hamptons beach house. A perfect example in the movie "Something's Gotta Give".
CLASSIC: I consider it a timeless, elegant design. Interior designer Barbara Barry is a master in this style.Designer Barbara Barry
BOHO CHIC: Eclectic, with a cool bohemian vibe.Designer Tom Scheerer
