Stylish, Statement Hoods From Prizer

This month has been unbelievable with business prospects and meetings with the best in the design industry. I just got home from High Point Market in North Carolina, where I sourced incredible furniture, accessories and art for client projects. I selected many unique pieces to give my clients' homes character. A home with soul doesn’t happen when shopping from big box stores or online, it requires the details in which design professionals are proficient. In order to build depth and the client’s personality in a home, I don’t limit myself only to furniture and accessories. Instead, details are added to everything from the architectural components to the appliances that are specified. This is the secret to getting the designer look you admire in magazines and, let’s be honest, hiring a designer is the best way to achieve it. Recently I attended the Architectural Digest Home Design Show in New York City during #BlogTourNYC and Prizer Hoods was debuting their luxurious and customizable kitchen hood line. They had a variety of styles highlighting different metal trim and paint finishes – which is perfect for designers, who like customizable options. I  always gravitate toward companies that are in tune with what’s current or have an ear-to-the-ground for what’s going to be hot in the future. Designers are often way ahead of trends and want to offer clients products that reflect that. Prizer Hoods is definitely breaking ground in this area. Their product was stunning to look at and inspired me to use them as a functional design feature in upcoming projects.

With the 2014 kitchen trends in mind, here are some of the hoods featured at the AD Design Show, including the 42” Manhattan Island in Radiant Orchid–Featured in Pantone’s 2014 Colour of the Year.DSC_0480DSC_0466DSC_0468DSC_0473DSC_0475DSC_0477Prizer hired Architectural designer Kim Lewis, known for being the lead designer of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” to design the Prizer Hoods booth. She was inspired by the displays found in art galleries. She’s passionate about design and talked about other design trends that Prizer is offering in their custom hood line. Such trends include texture & finishes and unique profiles.DSC_0481

"Prizer Hoods offers a full range of styles from modern to classic that can be tailored to a specific kitchen layout including wall mounted, island, BBQ and under counter hoods. If desired, a custom hood can be commissioned by working with a world-class design team and drafting department to create from scratch a unique piece according to a designer or homeowner’s precise specifications." It takes a lot to impress me when being introduced to new products. I am impressed.
